Band rehearsal today! I am Looking forward to it as it will be our last before our debut gig on April 01, 2010. Just had a look at some of Tom Jackson's U-tube videos and we are going to try to incorporate some of his ideas into our live show. EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT!!
Speaking of emotional, I left my job in northern Alberta to pursue a career that is closer to home. The graveyard shift does not work for me.
I started to play the guitar last night and found it amazing how fast my fingers softened while away. Time to build up the calluses on my fingers.
Cheers,
Austin

Union Soundtrack Covers?
Hello again,
Dan and I are wondering about lining up some cover songs to include in our sets. Some of the tunes we have thought of doing include: Fleetwood Mac's "You can go your own way", The Tragically Hip's "Gift Shop", and Coldplay's "God put a smile on your face". I would like to ask you what you think would make a great cover and what do you think of our choices?
Cheers,
Austin

CBC Radio 3 is super cool
What would I do without CBC Radio 3? I am so isolated with the exception of great music. As you may already know I am stuck in northern Alberta supervising a land reclamation project wth nothing but my radio and computer to keep me company. For the past few months I have tuned to radio 3 online and strongly recommend you do too. Some of the greatest artists nation wide 24/7 online and on SIRIUS Satellite 86. How about you tell me what do you do to stay entertained day or night?
Cheers,
Austin

Greetings from US
This is so great, my first blog. Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Austin Schumacher and I am in a Canadian indie band called Union Soundtrack. We are a new band that has released our first self titled album in 2009. I encourage you to check it out. I am a recent environment and conservation science graduate from the University of Alberta and I am currently working a graveyard shift so I suppose this blog could be my new best friend. I am looking to meet other Canadian indie bands and friends to share information with regarding the indie music scene in Canada. Add me if you are interested in establishing a new contact or friend!
Cheers,
Austin
